About Dr. O'Gara
Dr. William O’Gara was born and raised in Reno, Nevada and graduated from Bishop Manogue Catholic High School and the University of Nevada Reno. He continued his education and received his dental degree from the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. He practiced General Dentistry for two years before attending the accredited orthodontic program at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, where he earned his orthodontic specialty degree. He graduated with high honors from each of these institutions. He is board certified and has been practicing orthodontics exclusively since 1990. Dr. O’Gara is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists, and has served as past Secretary, Treasurer and President of the Northern Nevada Dental Society. Dr. O’Gara is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, Young Dentists of America and the Nevada Dental Association. He is a past delegate of the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners, which is an appointment by the Governor. He is also an active member of the Prospectors Club.
To provide the highest quality of care for his patients, Dr. O’Gara participates in local and national study clubs, and attends continuing education conferences all over the country. He is accredited and regularly lectures to other professionals about new technologies in orthodontics.
Dr. O’Gara enjoys a successful career in providing excellent orthodontics to his community. He is enthusiastic about the interactions and relationships between his patients, parents, and their families. Achieving beautiful and healthy smiles makes his job most satisfying.
Dr. O’Gara has a wife and two children. He has four siblings all of which are in the medical and dental professions in Reno. A few of his favorite pastimes are spending time with family and friends, reading, golf, tennis, boating and is an all around sports fan!
