Our Policies
Appointments
Appointments are scheduled at intervals for the best treatment progress so it is very important that the patient always arrive for their appointments on time. Arriving late may result in rescheduling of appointment.
- Regarding school attendance, there is always a question of missing classes for orthodontic appointments. Certain procedures require morning appointments! Before and after school appointments are quite popular; therefore, it will be necessary to alternate preferences to accommodate all of our patients. School excuses are available.
- If an appointment cannot be kept, please notify our office at least twenty-four hours before the scheduled appointments so that we may utilize that appointment time for another patient. A $25 fee will be charged after three missed appointments.
- Emergency appointments vs.
Repair appointments:
An emergency appointment is one that causes pain or discomfort and requires immediate attention. A repair appointment is to fix a broken bracket, band, etc. and will be scheduled as necessary. If a patient comes in to their regular scheduled appointment with something broken, we will make them comfortable and perform the procedure required in the time available. If there is something broken prior to scheduled appointment, please notify our office so additional time can be allotted.
Transfer Policy
If the patient relocates to another area, requiring treatment to be completed by another orthodontic practice, our total fee will be adjusted to reflect on the services provided and the account will be credited accordingly.
Discontinuing Treatment
The office reserves the right to discontinue treatment or refer the patient to another orthodontist (after consultation) for any of the following reasons:
- Recommended treatment is not carried out in detail, or there is a lack of cooperation on the part of the patient.
- Repeated breakage, loss or careless handling of appliances.
- Failure to keep teeth and appliances clean.
- Repeated missed appointments not cancelled 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment.
- Delinquent Account.
